Adult Mission Trip to Puerto Rico

WHEN: June 22 to June 30, 2018

WHAT: This past fall Puerto Rico was devastated by 2 different powerful hurricanes. Much of the island is still without power and people are working day by day to rebuild their homes and their lives. We have the opportunity this summer to help clear debris, repair buildings, and get to know the people and the challenges they have overcome.

WHY: The youth, their parents, and group leaders chose Puerto Rico as our youth mission trip destination this year to do hurricane disaster relief work. Since making this announcement we have had an overwhelmingly positive response. We have 29 youth going on the trip and we have heard from as many adults who would also like to go. The pastors and church council made the decision to have a parallel adult mission trip to Puerto Rico for adults. The youth and adults will stay in the same location but have separate sleeping areas, work projects and devotional groups. Together we will be able to make a powerful and positive difference for a struggling community in Puerto Rico.

WHO: Any St. Pauls adults who are excited about and physically able to do manual labor in the Puerto Rican summer sun can sign up to join the mission team. You do not need to have any particular skills or experience, only a willingness to work hard.

HOW MUCH: The per person cost for adults is $900. This covers airfare, lodging, transportation, food, work project set up, and management. Financial assistance is available.
